As I wrote my latest story for the @bostonglobe, which ran this past Sunday, I was just embarking on a new phase of purging and packing for a new home. It’s tedious and slow and quite exhausting mostly in that it makes you face and evaluate the minutiae of your life, piece by piece. As I told a friend, it feels so freeing to let go. I just want to hold onto a few sentimental things and start over with much less than before. Read all about how to live with not too much, not too little, but just enough. 👉🏻 Link in profile.

To the many generous souls that have opened their homes, hearts, arms and ears to me this past year, you’ve quite possibly saved my life. Today may be my birthday, but because of you, this swatch of time has become an indelible and rather incredible blur of goodness and support, and a push closer to balance and opportunity. Sometimes, facing the ocean of unknowns is scary enough to paralyze, but “if there’s one thing I’ve realized” (h/t @daniellepoletto), having the sustenance of meaningful relationships and unwavering love can buoy and even propel you if you let it. Happy birthday to me. And thank you to you. #uknowwhouare #letssurf
I went down a serious style wormhole this morning when I popped into the local @farrowandball showroom to get a private tutorial on their selection of 132 richly pigmented paint colours, now available on the @anthropologie web site (yah!). It was such a dream visit and I learned so much from their brilliant experts @aubergine925 & @brendaleentjes. Thank you for your time and the delish dish on all things colorful. #farrowandballparamus #anthropologie #painting #paintmixing #interiors #interiorstyling #interiordesigner
Tried surfing for the first time and loved surfing. Totally puked in the water but also got up on the board a few times and even rode a party wave. So I’d call that a successful first attempt for this newbie. 🏄♀️
In the latest installment of —What’s Christina up to?— I explore the designers and brands who are reinventing the look and feel of tile for our most private living spaces. The colors, textures and shapes are surreal, and so beautifully beyond the ubiquitous subway tile trend. It’s my latest article for the @bostonglobe. 👉🏻link in profile

Since Theo’s diagnosis of Angelman syndrome some four years ago, our coexistence together has been a constant and curious exercise in intuition, mind-reading, interpretive dance, charades and profound gestural engineering.
Theo can say one word: “Mama.” This single utterance means everything to me and, in every way, is truly the one word I’ve ever longed to hear. It’s assurance that he knows who he is to me.
But what I wouldn’t give to know more of my child’s voice.
My take on the weight of silence. It’s my latest story for @themightysite. Link in profile.

When it comes to taking a page and life cues from others, I always come back to @abigailedgecliffe, a long time friend and confidant who leads and lives with grace, intention and purpose. We crossed paths long ago on the campus of UMass, and remain closely connected to this day. I cherish this friendship and I cherish this person, who has worked tirelessly to see her dream of a STEM based race car system for children—@raceyatoys— launch and touch the world. Two years after she first shared this idea with me, cars are rolling and her Kickstarter is racking up supporters. If you believe in the power of creative play, support Abigail and her team. Please. x
There are subtle but interesting changes taking place within the infrastructure of modern family homes. Working moms and dads want what they want: smarter devices for living, open spaces to pass the time together, and even dedicated spots for the family pup. Read all about it in my latest story for the @bostonglobe, on newsstands today. .
